These boas have been kept on small wood chips for many years. Some of these are long term captives, others are short-term (part of recapture study) and will be re-released where found. Just before taking the photo, I lifted up their hide box to reveal a twisted mass of snake. Rubber Boas do not mind, and perhaps even enjoy being in groups.
